The best FM of the World !!!!!

Amazing Playlists!

I listen SomaFM since 2010. I love the Groovesalad, Lush and many others playlists. I highly recommend this app!

Awesome app!!

I absolutely love the new ipad app!!! And the love button is great, too!!!! Thanks for the update!!

Very nice App!

We love soma fm. Thanks for being adfree.

Best purchase ever

!

so glad you added background play!

grrrreat! now I can carry a wicked choice in music plus have it play in the background while I do other things.. hooray!

Waste of money

App wont connect, except for once. Then it dropped out after a few minutes. I feel ripped off. As for listener support, forget it. I already gave them money for nothing.

Save ur money

I love soma fm, an listen to it pretty much all day. But, this app really isnt that great. A better deal is to buy the "TuneIn Radio" app. It has all the soma fm channels (plus others), better quality/reliability, and is cheaper to purchase than the soma app.

Worth $4

I started listening to Soma using TuneIn, and only really got this as I was stoked on their stations and thought Id toss them a few bucks. In comparison to TuneIn, the Soma app provides a list of the 10 most recently played songs and allows quicker favoriting. I miss how TuneIn displays album art pulled from lastfm, though.

Switched to TuneIn after iOS 5

Big fan of SomaFM, I donate every month. Before iOS 5 this app was mostly OK although it sometimes crashed for no apparent reason and could not handle the transition from wifi to 3G streaming. With iOS 5 I havent been able to connect to iTunes store to buy via previously bookmarked tracks. This was a deal breaker. Ive switched to TuneIn Radio and have not looked back.

Crap

Only two genres

Not very reliable

I love soma.fm, but this app doesnt work very well. Connection is broken once or twice per hour; often times I can see the stations but the app crashes when or before I can select one. Disappointed. I should mention I have an old iPod Touch that no longer gets updated - maybe thats why I get poor performance. It works enough for me to use it, though!!

Not worth three bucks

Even on low bandwidth option it cuts out for random lengths if time. Full bars on 4G and WiFi.

Need higher quality streams

This app was pretty good but since the upgrade it wont play any higher than 64kbps at "high quality." Until this is fixed I will be using tunein radio.

Love this App! Love SomaFM!

I like that I can see the song and artist, and rate the songs. The audio quality is great. I am using Version 1.60(1268) with IOS 7.1 on iPhone5. No problems at all. The variety of channels is great! Keep up the great work SomaFM!

Perfect!

They dont try to do everything but what they do do is very well done. Thanks guys (gals?) for great work and lounging music. Youre the best :)

Whatever your mood, they have it

This app is one of the best. Straight up original, unique content and a variety of moods. Easy to navigate and not cluttered like others.

One definition- THE BEST!

I have been following Soma for years and years but never bothered getting an iOS app, till it went FREE today! You must be insane not to download it! The music selection is always unique and atmospheric, I cant describe how excited I am :)

Not very good

Update: Re: Apple TV 4 compatibility … The Soma FM Apple TV app is mediocre just like the others, but also has a giant (and rather fatal) flaw. Apple TV apparently doesn’t know it’s playing and so after 15, 30 or whatever minutes you have the sleep or screen saver set to … The TV turns itself off and Soma FM with it. The developers need to set the flag that Apple TV needs so as not to fall asleep when Soma FM is playing. Especially now since “sleep” means “turn off TV and entire stereo system.” I love SomaFM and really wanted to like this app but its just no good. Stations mysteriously drop, and stations quickly crash or drop with pretty much 100% reliability when you move from a Wi-Fi area to a cell network. This means if you put the radio on, and then leave the house for the day, it will crash as soon as you get 30 metres or so from your house. So you have to pull your iPhone out (in the rain), and try to reconnect etc. If you move in and out of Wi-Fi areas all day as I do this quickly gets infuriating. Im also extremely disappointed that as an owner of the first SomaFM app (that I *paid* for and which was incapable of backgrounding), that this new app was released which *does* do backgrounding, is free, and which the paid users were never made aware of. Why the new app isnt an upgrade of the old I have no idea. Why the users of the first paid app were not apprised of the existence of the new one is similarly a mystery. Im a big supporter of SomaFM and would likely have paid even for this new app, but the developers are (seemingly), amateurs and the whole business is rather distasteful. An app for SomaFM that worked and was rationally and attractively done would be fabulous, but its starting to look like they just arent capable of getting their act together.
